Our desire is not only to create great design for our clients, but to help them tell their story. From logo creation and business branding to personalized and unique wedding packaging; everything Character Eight produces is clean, passion filled, and purposeful in sharing a story.
The story of Character Eight began over a decade ago when Bryan and Denae met in high school. They quickly formed a friendship which led to an engagement after several years of dating and a marriage in December of 2011. Throughout this time both Bryan and Denae had an eye for design and an interest in creating and both pursued their interests in different ways. Denae went to Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia for four years and received her Bachelors of Science degree in Advertising with a minor in Graphic Design in the spring of 2011. During that time Bryan began working at a local Mid-Michigan church doing design, event organization and promotion among other tasks. Denae joined him at the church and became a full time designer and communication director for the next several years. Throughout her time as designer she created countless promotional campaign pieces, logos, web graphics, one magazine, and nearly a dozen published books.
The year 2015 brought a lot of change and soon the pursuit of a creative design business began. When deciding on a name for the company, the desire was for it to always be meaningful. The name Character Eight is unique in several ways. A person’s character tells their story. An individual, couple, or business organization that has a story to tell should strive to do so with the utmost character which brings about a great reputation with others.
A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and favor is better than silver or gold. – Proverbs 22:1
Good design is also full of character in color, type, and treatment. But the eight comes in in terms of type. Individual letters are known as characters of a typeface and the eighth character in the english alphabet is H. You’ll see the gold H throughout many of the images in Character Eight’s branding to represent the couple’s last name – Haley. The creative and personal touch of the name Character Eight sealed the deal in early 2016 and the business was born.
Though Character Eight has only just begun; the desire of Bryan and Denae is that it grows and continues to help individuals and businesses tell the story of their success in a unique and creative way.
